Vanessa Yates

Vanessa Yates

Owner & Founder, Vanessa Yates brings over 25 years of experience working in accounting firms, where her passion for bookkeeping and supporting small businesses first began.

Over the years, Vanessa saw too many business owners only gain visibility over their financials at the end of the year, when it was often too late to make real improvements. This inspired her to create Yates Bookkeeping Group, a practice focused on being part of the journey, not just the end result.

Vanessa has developed specialist expertise in legal and real estate trust accounting, not-for-profit organisations, and incorporated associations within the education sector. Her deep understanding of compliance, systems, and financial reporting allows her to deliver practical, tailored solutions for every client.

She holds a Diploma in Accounting, is a Registered BAS Agent, and is also a Xero Certified Advisor.

Simone Gordon

Simone Gordon

As a Senior Bookkeeper at Yates Bookkeeping Group, Simone enjoy the opportunity to apply her broad skill set across a wide range of business structures. This role enables her to work with various software platforms, tailor data management processes to different industries, and implement effective troubleshooting and problem-solving strategies. Simone is a registered BAS Agent and an Associate (AIPA) with the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA). She holds a Bachelor of Business from the University of Queensland and a Diploma of Accounting from Holmesglen, as well as certifications including Xero Certified Advisor, Xero Payroll, QBO ProAdvisor, and Certified Accounting Technician (IPA).

With more than 20 years of experience in public accounting, retail, and hospitality, Simone brings strong capability in end-to-end payroll, accounts payable and receivable, costing, financial reporting, and year-end preparation.

Simone is passionate about helping clients understand their numbers, build strong business plans, and achieve their goals with realistic budgets and sustainable strategies. Outside of work, Simone enjoy spending time in her garden, painting large canvases, and relaxing with her daughter Aaliyah and spirited dog, Alina.

Theresa Ferrer

Theresa Ferrer

Theresa is one of our highly skilled Senior Bookkeepers based in the Philippines, bringing over eight years of valuable experience to the Yates Bookkeeping Group team. She has developed a strong reputation for her accuracy, efficiency, and proactive approach across a wide range of bookkeeping responsibilities.

Her expertise spans payroll management and financial reporting, and she takes pride in ensuring compliance and precision in every task she handles. Theresa's deep understanding of accounting software and processes makes her a reliable and adaptable asset to our team, particularly in supporting clients with complex reporting needs.

Theresa works closely with a number of our clients, building strong professional relationships and providing ongoing support to help businesses stay on track financially. Her attention to detail, combined with her strong organisational skills, allows her to consistently deliver high-quality outcomes within deadlines.

Outside of work, Theresa values quality time with her husband and enjoys walking their dog in the mornings. Weekends are often spent catching up with family, which is a treasured part of her routine. Her warmth, dedication, and professional excellence make her a much-loved member of the Yates Bookkeeping Group team.
